MARINA

MARINA

Marina Known as the Pride of Chennai, the Marina beach stretches for about 13 km making it the second longest beach in the country. The urban beach has white sand and is considered to be one of the busiest beaches in India.
The beach was damaged by waves as high as 20 feet during the tsunami in 2004.
The beach is one of the most prominent open spaces in Chennai and is host to many important national and cultural events like the parades on Independence Day and Republic Day. The annual Chennai Marathon, India’s biggest city marathon, starts from Anna Square near Marina beach. The Pongal celebration in January attracts an estimated 150,000 people on the beach for the festivities. The Marina Beach has been featured in numerous Tamil movies over the years.
The beach also has a skating arena, jogger’s track and aquarium. Pony rides, merry-go-rounds and giant wheels are also on the beach.
Beach cricket and kite flying are popular activities on the beach. A giant chessboard is a favourite with children.

The sea is rough and there is a strong undercurrent so swimming is strictly prohibited near the beach but there are two swimming pools along the beach.

They are playing with those materials, which are thrown away by others after their use. But they are feeling comfortable and happy with what they have.

People are giving less respect to the police because of their silly attitude. Many police are found in the park near marina beach who are engaged in various activities other than what they are appointed for...

“Lets celebrate mother tongue”: We must agree late Nelson Mandela, who said “if you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head, if u talk to him in his language it goes to his heart”.

Finding difficulty: There is no shortage of skills of labour, rather the problem is poor management for supplying old tools.

The life in a small huts are like a cramped holes. They have no moments to joy. The children’s in slum have lost childhood. They are not enjoying their childhood. Let these children’s enjoy the light and freedom in their life.

Irresponsible city police: A bike was parked in a No parking zone. I pointed it out that two lady polices are standing close by that. They refuse to take an action. They are busy chatting and proving that they are irresponsible and this brings down peoples respect towards police.
